University fairs are a great tool for prospective students. These events give students the opportunity to meet university representatives and discuss their degree programmes, university life, and pick up some resources to take home with them.
All are welcome to attend the University Fair at Acorn House College, which takes place on Wednesday 1st June from 10am - 3pm. If you are an external student who is currently not studying at the college, please do get in contact with us to secure your place at the event.

In addition to the exhibiting universities, we are excited to welcome leading experts in university admissions from the Dukes Education Group, to give students free talks on a variety of higher education focus areas.
Speaker sessions will be running from 11am - 2.30pm.

To make sure you get the most of your time at the fair, we have compile some common questions you might want to think about before you attend.
General Questions
- Research the universities which do the courses you are looking for.
- Where are they in the UK? Are they close/far from home?
- What are the entry requirements for the courses you have selected?
University Specific Questions
- Are first years guaranteed university accommodation?
- How many students attend the university?
- What are the transport links like? Is the train station within walking distance from the campus.
- Is there more than one campus and where would your course be in comparison to the university accommodation?
- Does the university offer any bursaries?
- When is their next open day and how can you register for it?
Course Specific Questions
- What do the course modules involve?
- Are they core or optional modules
- Does the course require any examinations or it is all assignment based or both?
- What careers do the graduates of that course usually go onto?
General Tips
- Don’t just go for the freebies on the tables (pens, badges etc) speak to the university representative.
- Don’t be shy to approach the stand. The university staff are there to help and answer your questions.
- Be selective with collecting information and prospectuses. Don’t take what you don’t need.
